Object in different positions in the frame

Exercise 7

For this exercise i took five different pictures and positioned the clump of sand dune and rocks in different positions.

The first two pictures i don't think are working well because there is too much water in the foreground and it is quite boring to look at, the low light does not help this at all.

I think picture number 3 does not work well because the object splits both the foreground and background too much.

I think that picture number 4 worked the best out of this group as the small bit of water and the sky balance each other out. Also with the water and sand meeting in the middle of the picture gives you a sort of centre line. The clump of sand bottom left is also balance out by the larger sand dune top right of the picture.

I also think that the pictures could do with a slightly longer exposure to lighten them up.
